How Your Space Is Shaping You

April 7, 2025

Hi 🙋🏻‍♀️ I’m Elle,

co-owner of RAREculture, an art and design studio that creates visual experiences for luxury hotels, wellness spaces, and commercial environments around the world.

For a decade, I’ve had the privilege to work with interior designers, architects, and brand visionaries to bring art into high-end spaces. And somewhere along the way, I started noticing something bigger than just the visuals.

The way a space looks is important. But the way it feels? That’s everything.

And that’s where RAREform comes in.

You know that feeling when you walk into a room and instantly feel... off?
Or the opposite—when something just clicks and your whole body exhales?

That’s not just mood. That’s design.
And whether we realize it or not, the spaces we move through every day are shaping us—mentally, emotionally, physically.

I created RAREform to explore exactly that: the connection between art, science, wellness, and how we feel in our environments.
Not from a trends or aesthetics perspective—but from a nervous system, energy, and lived experience one.

What is this space?

RAREform is part journal, part field notes, part sensory love letter to the spaces we inhabit—room by room.

It lives where art meets science, where design becomes emotion, and where the senses—light, scent, texture, color, and sound—quietly shape the way we move through the world.

What you’ll find here:

  • Essays on how space affects mood, energy, and biology
  • Art and design deep-dives grounded in research and intuition
  • Conversations with artists, designers, and sensory thinkers
  • Behind-the-scenes glimpses of my work through RAREculture
  • Products, objects, and rituals that live at the edge of art, science, and soul

Some posts will be backed by neuroscience, some will be rooted in lived experience and creative process, and some will be soulful rambles on what it means to feel more at home in your body, your space, your life.

Who this is for:

For the space lovers. The deep feelers. For the designers and healers and curious humans who want to live—and design—more consciously. For anyone who’s ever walked into a room and felt their whole body shift... even if they couldn’t explain why.

And why now?

Because we’re overwhelmed. Overstimulated. Tired of things that look great but don’t land. Because your nervous system is constantly taking in cues from your surroundings. Because “just vibes” is actually real biology.

And because I believe beauty—when done well—can help us heal.

So welcome. Whether you’re here out of curiosity, creative inspiration, or just trying to figure out why your bedroom gives you a weird headache…
You’re in the right place.

We’re just getting started.

P.S. Most of the photos in this post are from a park in Mexico City that genuinely changed my brain chemistry. It’s called Parque Quetzalcóatl—look it up, or better yet, go. Your senses will thank you.
